Amsterdam Tourist Attractions

You can find some really good eco-friendly stays in Amsterdam if you know where to look. There is a wide range of these available, from luxurious to budget, to suit what you have in mind for your stay. These stays are marked for being environmentally friendly above all else. Note that if you are visiting between March and October, you will want to book well in advance so that you get a good deal.

The Generator Hostel

Located inside the East park within an old laboratory, this establishment has everything designed to cater to the hipster demographic. You have lovely public areas, with beautiful views over the park from the café terrace. In the café you get served tasty, filling food which includes vegan and vegetarian options. As for slumber, you have mini-dorms sleeping 4 persons each, or you can choose a private room to yourself. The pricing is a bit steep at 50 Euros per head in a mini-dorm, even considering it is Amsterdam. Generator emphasizes tourist forays into the eastern part of the city, which is somewhere most tourists do not usually go.

Hotel QBIC

QBIC has an acclaimed hotel in London, and its Amsterdam counterpart does not disappoint either. A bit off the beaten path in South Amsterdam, its location makes for lower prices, less tourist crowds, and easy accessibility of the city centre. It is also close to the south train station. They have economical rooms, which are eco-friendly (there is even a sign reminding you to turn off the shower when you are shampooing your hair).

Conscious Hotels

This hotel has three locations around the city, and it is the closest you can get to an environment friendly and socially conscious hotel. Right in the middle of it all, you have the Museum Square, and at the southern end is Vondelpark. The latter has many eateries and green spaces nearby. The newest among the Conscious hotels has a complete eco friendly setup including roof solar panels, an environment friendly pastry shop, and the use of Aquifier Thermal Energy Storage, which makes this one of the greenest hotels in the city.

EcoMama Hotel

A mix between a hotel and a hostel, EcoMama Hotel has seven types of rooms. Dedicated to the environment friendly drive that is taking tourism by storm, EcoMama Hotel espouses the styles of conscious living, with everything from natural stone heating to efficient water systems. No wonder, it is one of the best green hotels, which you can choose to stay when in Amsterdam.
